James Ross of Wabash Indiana, accompanied with the E.M. envelope addressed in Harrison’s hand. Harrison’s expresses his personal sorrow at news of an old friend’s death. Routine content but a scarce example as most of Harrison’s White House letters were written in a secretary’s hand or even by typewriter. He is uncommon to scarce in handwritten presidential letters and this one is a nice displayable example with a few ink blots in a few places where Harrison’s heavy hand with thick ink was not sufficiently blotted dry.
