Walter P. Chrysler – automobile manufacturer, founder of the Chrysler Corporation, signed memo 6/17/1913 on an oversized 9.25 x 11 Buick Motor Company form. Chrysler stops all repairs of furniture unless approved by his office. “In many cases the cost of refinishing has been more than the furniture is worth.”
Chrysler gained tremendous knowledge about manufacturing as the young Works Manager for the early Buick Motor Company. His oversight helped grow the Buick company and he would then step out on his own, producing the Chrysler cars.
This is a nice example showcasing Chrysler’s eye for details and involvement in every aspect of manufacturing. It is in excellent condition, with two marginal hole-punches. The large format paper gives the appearance of a small broadside proclaiming industrial efficiency and makes for a nice visual display.
